The Hubert Company’s Harrison Corporate Headquarters and Distribution Center has been awarded LEED® Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). USGBC is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that aredesigned, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.
“Hubert is pleased to accept this certification in recognition of our energy efficiency efforts,” said President and CEO Bart Kohler. “Combined with our Energy Star certification last November, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship while also lowering our energy costs.”
Hubert improved its energy performance by managing energy strategically across theentire organization and by making cost-effective improvements to its building. Since May 2012, Hubert has offset greenhouse gas emissions equal to the annual electricity use of 17,744 light bulbs, 55,956 trees, 2,232 tons of carbon dioxide and 251,806 gallons of gasoline.
