Our environmentally conscious customers already know that they can find great eco-friendly merchandising and supply products for their food retail and food service businesses under one roof at the Hubert Company; this year, thanks to the addition of 120,000 sq ft of green energy producing solar panels, that roof is more eco-friendly than ever!
Slated for completion this spring, Hubert is excited to announce the installation of 3,840 solar panels that will produce over 25% of our annual electricity needs. Our new solar roof will be one of the largest roof systems in the state of Ohio and the energy it will provide could power 99 homes for a year. This installation, in addition to new environmentally friendly light fixtures in our warehouse, 140 tons corrugated cardboard recycled annually, the use of 100% recyclable shipping containers where possible, is a part of Hubert’s initiative to practice global responsibility for our environment and encourage our neighbors to “think green” as well.
A celebration marking the completion of the solar roof will be held in Harrison,Ohio in May 2012.
